Natural is the only way

Meet Carlene, such a bubbly delight to know . Having also been on her own journey with cancer she knows the true worries of us women and our hair (or lack of it!)....

In 2018 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer and faced 6 months of chemotherapy treatment. I was 29 years old and during treatment my only goal was to get to the end and to be healthy, so although my hair was falling out rapidly, it wasn’t until I finished treatment that I really realised the impact losing my hair actually had on both my confidence and my sense of identity and mental health. Desperate to feel like me again, I set out on a journey to gain back my confidence along with the healthiest, thickest hair I could. Using only natural ingredients, I mixed up this potion and, although nameless and only made for personal use at the time, Malva was born! There are so many people out there, both with illnesses and without desperate for that product to help them bring back both their hair and their confidence and I think we have found it! I have had so many wonderful success stories and it makes me so happy to know that I can make a difference. If I can help even one other person feel more confident and more ‘me’ again then I have achieved what I set out to do!

I absolutely love my Malva, my hair has grown so so much. Plus, I even had to buy one for hubby as he kept using it . Try it for yourself 💕

Over the last few years I have not only changed my diet with what I put inside my body, but also what I put on my body.

I believe everything should be natural to give our bodies the best chance at living.

Please meet my friend Helen .........

Hi,

My name is Helen Papworth and I am a sports massage therapist and an ambassador for Tropic SkinCare.

My skin story: In 2016, I went to my doctors to ask to have my moles looked at as I have over 100 on my body and wanted to check that they were okay.

Thankfully I did as I had two moles that looked asymmetrical. I was referred to a dermatologist who took at look at them and decided that I should have a couple of biopsies done. The results came back and one was a high grade - meaning that If I hadn’t have had it checked out it could have devolved into melanoma.

As you can imagine hearing those words really upset and scared me. I was advised to stay covered up in the sun and always wear spf 50. I was also told to get my moles checked every year. Since then over the past couple of years I’ve had another two moles removed but thankfully they were low grades. However, because of the amount of moles I have had removed I was diagnosed in 2018 with dysplasia mole syndrome, which means that my moles are more susceptible to changing shape, size and colour making me a higher risk of getting melanoma.

Since being diagnosed, I’ve changed my annual mole checks to 6 monthly. I wanted to find ways where I could help my body naturally to become healthier and how I could prevent any further moles from changing. So, I stopped sunbathing straight away and always ensure I wear spf 50 everyday and re-apply every 2 hours if I am out in the sun. I try to stay out of the sun between 11am-3pm but if I do end up in a sunny place I’ll always be near shade or covered up.

Being a qualified personal trainer I know a little about nutrition but not enough to help boost my immune system or which foods I should avoid to try and prevent the cells in my moles from changing as I have now learnt they like to feed off refined sugars.

I was recommend to see Liz Sheehan who is a Nutritional Therapist, Functional Medicine Graduate & Naturopath. I followed her 30days to renew your health programe where she taught me all about anti-inflammatory and antioxidant foods along side probiotics and alkaline foods to help heal my cells and boost my immune system. I took dairy and wheat out of my daily food consumption too, this was to help with my digestion and prevention of getting leaky gut again. Also no alcohol consumption for 30days either. Booo !!

Although, I must say the hardest part of it was taking sugar out of meals and just eating natural sugars like fruit or honey/maple syrup. Liz taught me ways that I could manage with stress in my life especially when running my own health & fitness business to ensure that it was minimal. After following and competing Liz’s program I felt amazing, I had plenty of energy, was sleeping better and my skin looked fresh.

I then went back to my dermatologist a few months later for my check up and Wow the first time since 2016 there was no change in my moles... I was over the moon. By ensuring that I was looking after the inside of my body I wanted to make sure that I was also using natural skin care products on my skin.

A friend introduced me to Tropic Skincare products. I fell in love with their products straight away, they are so beautiful and smell devine. Boy, did my skin fall in love with them too and the way my skin responded was such a joy to me. My skin brightened up, become smooth and received a lovely even complexion. After trying these products for a couple of months I contacted my friend and told her how I felt about these beautiful products and asked if there was a possibility to promote them. I was so happy when I discovered that I could become a Tropic Ambassador and that’s exactly what I became.
